2002 SCCA CLUB RACING RULE CHANGES

NOTICE: The following cumulative summary of the 2001 SCCA Club Racing rule changes has been compiled for the convenience of the reader. It is NOT an official document. For a specific rule change, reference must be made to the indicated FasTrack, Racing Bulletin or Tech Bulletin. All material contained in this document has been copyrighted by the Sports Car Club of America. PART 1 - GT1

SOURCE STATUS SECTION DESCRIPTION

TB 02-03 Eff 3/1/02 D.4.b.2 Change the section as follows. Replace
the word 'operable' in the first
sentence with the word 'functional'.
Add the following paragraph at the end
of the section: A functional reverse is
defined as operable by the driver from
his normal seated position and capable
of sustained movement of the vehicle
under its own power in a reverse
direction. A driver operated device
for locking out reverse gear may be
added provided it does not prevent
prompt engagement of reverse in an
emergency situation.

TB 02-01 Eff 1/1/02 D.8.a.11.B Change section to read as follows: The
2001 Trans-Am specified rear wing or a
flat plane spoiler may be used. If the
2001 Trans-Am spec wing is used, it
shall comply with all relevant Trans-Am
rules and the car shall carry a 50 lbs
weight penalty. Competitors using the
2001 Trans-Am spec wing shall have a
copy of the 2001 SCCA Pro Racing
Regulations at all competitions. If a
flat plane spoiler is used, it shall be
contiguous with the rear bodywork
rearward of the rear window and shall
comply with the following:

TB 02-02 Eff 2/1/02 D.8.a.11.B.5 Add paragraph: Trans-Am Wing Assembly
Specifications: Unmodified single
element Liebeck airfoil P/N 11D104E
scaled to a chord length of 10.75".
The maximum cross sectional tolerance
is .060". Maximum .050" Gurney tab,
contiguous and mounted 90 degrees to
the trailing edge of the wing element.
Wing end plates must be flat, a maximum
of 11" high, a maximum of 4" wide,
mounted parallel to the car centerline
and mounted perpendicular to the
ground. No portion of the wing /
Gurney tab may extend beyond the
perimeter of the end plates. Maximum
width of the wing assembly is 72.0".

TB 02-02 Eff 2/1/02 D.8.a.11.B.6 Add paragraph: Wing Mounting
Specifications: Wing assembly must be
mounted at least 2.0" below rook peak
(measured at the vehicle centerline).
The trailing edge of the wing assembly
must be located within an area defined
by a point 6" forward of the rearmost
bodywork and the rearmost bodywork
(measured at the vehicle centerline).
Two wing mounting posts must be used,
with each one located between 16" and
20" inboard from the ends of the wing.
The maximum wing angle from horizontal
is 30 degrees.

TB 02-02 Eff 2/1/02 E.1.b.1 Add the following at end of section:
Note: Ford engines using splayed valve
heads must add 130 lbs.

TB 02-02 Eff 2/1/02 E.1.c Chrysler Corporation. Add to
classifications as follows: Dodge Viper
GTS, Wheelbase: 96.2", Note: Must use a
class legal V-8.

TB 02-04 Eff 4/1/02 E.1.c General Motors Corporation - Chevrolet.
Change Monte Carlo classification to
read as follows: Monte Carlo (1995-
2002), Wheelbase: 106.0".

TB 02-05 Eff 5/1/02 E.1.c General Motors Corporation - Chevrolet.
Change Monte Carlo classification to
read as follows: Monte Carlo (1995-
2000), Wheelbase: 106.0".

TB 02-05 Eff 5/1/02 E.1.c General Motors Corporation - Chevrolet.
Add Monte Carlo classification to read
as follows: Monte Carlo (2001-2002),
Wheelbase: 110.0".

TB 02-02 Eff 2/1/02 E.1.c Add to classifications as follows:
Jaguar XK8 / XKR, Wheelbase: 100.5",
Note: Must use a class legal Ford
engine.

TB 02-02 Eff 2/1/02 E.1.c Panoz. Change specifications as
follows: Esperante, Note: Cars
currently classified as GTS may run in
their current configuration until
1/1/03 or they may convert to GT1 specs
as of 1/1/02. Delete requirements to
have a copy of Enterprise
specifications

TB 02-07 Eff 7/1/02 E.1.c Panoz. Clarify classification as
follows: Esperante, Wheelbase: 106",
Model: GTS. GTS bodywork, rear wing,
17" x 8" wheels and 8.25: engine
setback are permitted. Note, the
actual engine setback may vary slightly
due to adjustability of front
suspension members, Wheelbase: 107.6".
Note: must use class legal Ford engine.
