Hi Guys-this has been a great exchange of ideas and opinions and looks like everyone is still
enthusiastic about GT1/TA and all areas have addressed so lets get busy and have a great year!
No more excuses-GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND GET BUSY-also write the CRB if you feel the need-as long
as its -"THE NEED FOR SPEED"

I want racers to know that over a week ago I asked the CRB to rescend two out of the three rule requests before being taken up with the group.

Bob, you think I'm a bomb thrower, maybe I may know more what's going on the inside of our club then other members, I know GT1 members that don't even look at this website.
My name is Mitch, my phone is 608-877-8550 and my email is prt1983a@tds.net

Really, don't some people get it, GT1 was running along pretty good, then this D. Wheeler got SCCA and Midwestern Council (when he was Comp. Dir.) to change the belt rule to 2 years and was overheard saying so he could sell more product. Again, Hans devices are good but racers need to be responsible for themselves and not have every little thing mandated to them, also doesn't make sense with a club with different cars to mandate a "one size fits all" and finally, tell me Bob, is it fair for any SCCA member to go thru the rule procedure, like the weight rule, SCCA puts it out for comment and shelves it because they heard back from the members, then two months later it's pushed thru. Then one hears how the CRB was told GT1 to either accomadate or go with the TransAm rules, from someone within SCCA, tells me it doesn't matter if a member goes thru the procedure or what the majority wants, tell me Bob, how is that fair not only to you but all the other members. The only reason SCCA did the belt rule and Hans, not because of the insurance company, not because of SFI, but because now SCCA has equipment sponsors now and trying to keep that money flowing in, sense last year SCCA lost membership, cancelled 140 races, cancelled the equipment and vehicles ordered at the first of the year, and cancelled the 2 1/2% rule because 1/4 of the classes would have been dropped, I heard even GT1 would have fallen into it, but I hope that was stated incorrectly.

I see some people want GT1 rules to be similar to TransAm, well hold on, I predict it's coming, your one tire, fire bottles recertified every two years, fuel cells every five years, unleaded fuel and whatever else SCCA changes for TransAm will come to GT1, now that someone within SCCA is telling the CRB, wanting GT1 to accomadate the TransAm more.

I'm against the one tire spec. rule, has been proven in business and within racing, one manufacturer means no competition and can charge whatever they want, I see it within racing, but some don't want to believe that is happening. Have GT1 more open, run what you like and what works on the car, it's that simple, all within the rules before they started to get changed within the last couple of years.

Mitch, when was the last time you competed in an SCCA Club Racing GT1 event? When was the last time you competed in an SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series event?

doesn't matter, the truth is the truth and not gossip. I'm building up a new chassis this year and what will surprise a lot of guys here, even though I'm trying protect GT1 as it was just a couple of years ago, I'm building the chassis to TransAm rules. so you can put that in your pipe and smoke it. back to work on it.

So Mitch in other words, you haven't competed in years, but hey let's rewrite the rules just for you?

As to smoking whatever in my pipe, I don't smoke, unless it is hand rolled and from Cuba. However, I do enjoy an ice cold BAM with my pals Mike Diamond and Dave Wheeler when the opportunity presents itself. Dave likes to buy the drinks 'cause he makes so much money off of selling those pesky seat belts. :P

And I do tend to migrate to the eeevil(in my best Dr. Evil voice) Trans-Am paddock every summer for the last numerous years.

So all in all I guess I don't score any points, again.

Ok, it's been fun, I need to get back to work. Be safe, be fast, be first.
